Robinhood Chain: When the Brokerage Giant Deploys Its Own Blockchain
Robinhood has reached a decisive milestone in its strategic shift toward decentralized finance. As recently highlighted by Bim Exchange, the American brokerage platform has officially launched the mainnet of its proprietary blockchain: the Robinhood Chain. Designed as an Ethereum Layer-2 built on Arbitrum technology, this infrastructure aims to bridge traditional market liquidity with Web3 flexibility.
At the core of this initiative lies the tokenization of Real-World Assets (RWAs). Powered by block times of roughly 100 milliseconds and minimal transaction fees paid in ETH, the network enables 24/7 trading of tokenized stocks and ETFs—such as Apple, Nvidia, or QQQ. Investors are no longer bound by traditional Wall Street trading hours and can interact with these markets directly from non-custodial (self-custody) wallets.
Right out of the gate, the ecosystem leverages top-tier DeFi partnerships. Protocols such as Uniswap are deploying automated market makers (AMMs) on the network, while solutions like Morpho power decentralized lending products offering stablecoin yields. Another notable breakthrough: Robinhood natively integrates artificial intelligence frameworks, streamlining the execution of algorithmic trading strategies driven by autonomous agents.
Following in the footsteps of other industry heavyweights that have built dedicated on-chain rails, Robinhood confirms that the line between TradFi and DeFi continues to blur. While this evolution still presents regulatory and governance challenges, the rollout of the Robinhood Chain marks the dawn of an open financial era where listed equities, digital assets, and programmable liquidity live on the exact same ledger.
